I am Janet Rudd.
Artist. Designer. Painter.
“As long as I can remember, I have always been a hand-on person comfortable with learning new things. During my career, I have worked in various trades, including owning my own taxidermy business. Each project presented a unique challenge that I loved to work on. As my young children grew, I closed the taxidermy shop in the late 90s to focus on time on them. At home, I couldn’t keep my hands clean for too long- I had to keep creating when I had time! I painted walls and furniture pieces in our home. My projects expanded to include bigger furniture, trim pieces, staining, and faux finish work. Friends would visit and remark about my projects and ask me to update their homes, too.
I expanded the scope of work to include projects in their homes and large wall murals in our church. Word of my work spread and I opened my painting business in 2013. The midwestern work ethic I grew up with coupled with my inner drive to do excellent hands-on work spurred me on to make beautiful spaces.
Owning, working, and managing my own business gives me an opportunity to be a part of so many fun projects. I work along side talented artists daily who continue to learn new skills and finish techniques. My kids are still involved in the business as they have time and the rest of my staff has become a part of the family. We really have a lot of fun being creative together - we love to delight our customers with the final product to create the space they have only dreamed of.
Our services include interior and exterior work for residential and commercial spaces. We offer painting, refinishing for cabinets and furniture, dramatic wall murals, wallpaper removal and installation, decorative finishes, faux finishes, designing, and more. “
